I keep coming across these realistic deer mannequins at Bass Pro and I’m curious if they’re actually a good investment or just a bunch of marketing fluff. For anyone who’s had luck with them, what models are you using? I'm trying to get a grip on the doe vs buck debate especially regarding their effectiveness during the rutting season. I’d like to hear your honest opinions.

For deer never tried...
I wouldn't bother.
I've watched a season on deer on survalace cams. The deer run away from strange deer like when deer from the other farm invaded our yard the deer in are yard would leave just before they came in etc.. weird.. deer are like people just like people.. a decoy might fool a deer into thinking it's a deer but it's still a stranger.
Everything from does running away when the big monster comes in. They would run away 5 mins before he show up every night.
Mothers beating up there boy and kicking them out of the group, the mom's nasty they just one day kick the kid till they leave.
Anyway, you can try clear strait ammonia. Run a figure 8 around your stand and hang it. It works during the rut, both buck and doe will run the trail just that's what they do and they keep going they don't hang out but they will do a couple figure 8 around till they figure it out.
