Why I still hunt with a lever action

I use a lever action because it forces me to be more deliberate. The sights are simple, the capacity is limited and everything about it slows me down in a way that feels intentional. Modern equipment is great but sometimes constraints are what make the experience meaningful.

That’s fair, but some constraints are preference, not necessity and they can change depending on the kind of hunting you’re doing.

I get that completely. Lever guns really make you slow down and think and that changes the entire experience for the better.

True, a lot of it is preference but I like those constraints personally.

Exactly, it forces a different mindset and that’s what makes it more rewarding.

I can appreciate that. Lever guns really do make you slow down but in a good way. It makes each shot feel like it truly counts, instead of just sending a bunch of rounds downrange.
