I almost skipped this one at the counter, it was under four hundred dollars which usually sets my expectations pretty low. By the end of the session it had run clean the whole time, the trigger was better than the price tag had any business being and the groups were honest.

But nothing about it felt premium and it wasn't trying to..but it worked, every single time, which is really the only thing that matters when it counts. The gap between budget and premium defensive pistols has closed up a lot more than people give it credit for over the last decade. You can be genuinely well armed without going broke to get there.

Has a budget option ever outperformed what you expected from it, enough to change how you think about spending more?
