For those who've spent time with both, how do you compare 20 gauge and 28 gauge for upland hunting or clays? I know 28 is lighter and has a reputation for being smooth, but shells can be harder to find. Is the performance difference big enough to justify choosing one over the other?

If you're out there chasing pheasants or mixing it up in varied terrains, the 20 gauge is definitely your go-to for versatility. But when it comes to hunting quail or grouse in thick cover, the 28 gauge feels like it's just a part of you. It's super quick, smooth, and really feels effortless to use.

If I had to pick one shotgun for just about everything, I'd probably go with a 20 gauge. It’s versatile and you can find ammo for it almost anywhere. But if I'm thinking about putting together a lightweight setup for those long walks through thick brush or just some fun clay shooting with friends, you can't beat a 28 gauge. There's just something so elegant about it, and it’s a breeze to handle.
