What to Ditch When Heading to the Range

So, I’ve been hitting the range a bit lately and felt like sharing some thoughts on what to wear. Not the fancy tactical stuff or anything, just what you throw on for a casual day of shooting.

I’ve noticed a lot of guys wearing camo. It’s just a bit... much for the range, right? I mean, if you’re not hunting, does it really make sense? I get that it looks cool, but when you’re just blasting through a few rounds, it feels kind of overkill. Just my opinion, of course.

I’ve been opting for comfy stuff like jeans, a plain tee, and sturdy boots. I figured that keeps me safe (sandals are definitely out) and not looking like I’m going on some secret mission. I think neutral colors work better, but maybe I’m just overthinking it.

What do you folks wear when you head out? Any cringe-worthy outfits I should look out for? Would love to hear what you guys think!

I was taught to shoot by an old guy from the club i went to back in the 70s. He wore socks n sandels, shorts and a tee shirt.
He could shoot iron sight to 500yds without a rest. Imho, if you can shoot like that, wear anything you want.

ghetu has it right. Weather, foot hazards, personal preferences, whether you will clean the gun at the range, whether your so-called friends will make fun of your choice of nose rings, these are all individual choices. Protection of eyes and ears should not be considered optional.
