What's one must-have in your hunting pack?

Growing up, my dad and I always hunted together, and now deer season's my favorite time of year. Last season, I missed a big 8-pointer because my scent gave me away. This year, I'm setting up trail cams early and practicing with my bow at 40 yards. I switched to fixed broadheads after a mechanical failed me once. I'm also trying an ozone generator for scent control and I am hoping it's not just a gimmick! My prep's all about staying patient and scouting smart. I'd love to hear how you get ready for deer season. What's one must-have in your hunting pack?

One thing I absolutely can't go out without when I'm hunting is my wind checker, a simple puff bottle filled with powder. It may not be fancy, but I can't tell you how many hunts it's saved for me. Even when I've got my scent control game on point, keeping track of how the wind shifts every minute can really make the difference between a successful setup and going home empty-handed.

A compass is almost mandatory. Last thing is you do not want to be able to get out. Just remember you are not lost, but the location you are looking for (car, camp, ect) is.

I'm not sure of one thing. The least amount to carry.

Roll of electrical tape compass knife whistle licence enough ammunition. Snack and drink. Dog leash. Phone. 2 bic lighters and a pack of cigarettes.

I think that's it. I would carry less but.

Gloves hands warmer facemask get added when it's colder.
